Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Body

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Body

By looking at the Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo body, you’ll notice that the general shape has so many similarities despite having also so many differences.

Both bodies come with the latest features that Traxxas has like the clipless body, the plastic skids, as well as the big spoiler in the back.

Still, Traxxas XRT has some new features that no other Traxxas RC truck has like the air vents on the hood as well as on the roof.

These air vents make the motor’s temperature down because they drive the airflow directly to the motor as well as the heat sink with the dual fans installed on it.

They also help with aerodynamics since the XRT is a fast RC car.

In addition to that, the design of these two RC cars is not the same. The Traxxas E-Revo comes with a curvy design, there are no sharp angles like the XTR that comes with sharp angles but no curvy ones.

Other than that, both RC cars have a front bumper that covers and protects the body from frontal shocks, great stickers, and different colors and body styles that you can choose from, as well as an internal plastic cage that supports the body and makes it stronger.

Here is a summary of the Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo body similarities and differences:

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Chassis Dimensions

As mentioned before, Traxxas E-Revo and Traxxas XRT look similar, but once you look closer, you’ll find that Traxxas XRT is way bigger than the E-Revo.

If you have checked the full review of the XRT, you’ll see that this RC car is even wider than the X-Maxx and higher than the Maxx. It is the second biggest Traxxas RC car after the X-Maxx.

The ground clearance for the XRT is 1.93 inches versus 2.9 inches for the E-Revo, this is a one-millimeter difference! It may not look that big, but, at high speeds, it will make a difference.

The XRT is even bigger than the E-Revo and loner as well the XRT reaches 31.41 inches in length and 10.15 inches in height, while the E-Revo has a length of only 23.05 inches and a height of 8.7 inches.

By having smaller dimensions, it doesn’t mean that the E-Revo is a weak RC car, it is one of the best RC cars out there in the market, but for the XRT, these dimensions are so small.

Here are more dimensions details about the Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo:

As you see, the Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo chassis dimensions differ between those two RC cars, and this will affect the other parts as well.

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Chassis Structure

For the XRT, there are so many new parts as well as designs in the new chassis, but the overall basic structure is always there.

the XRT comes with a front bumper in the front, an Aluminum heavy-duty suspension system with shocks and suspension arms that are hard to break as well as included body mounts within the chassis for more rigidity which is one of the new techniques in this RC car.

This is what we usually see in any Traxxas RC car, but not all of them, because the E-Revo has another thing to say!

One of the main differences in the E-Revo is the shocks you’ll find the front bumper first, the suspension arms, and the body mounts with their standard design like the old Traxxas RC cars, but no shocks are there!

That’s because the shocks are horizontal instead of vertical, and they’re installed behind the body mount instead of next to it.

These shocks are also heavy-duty and made to resist and handle all the pressures coming from speed and bashing.

Which one is better of those two systems? Both systems are incredible, but the fact that Traxxas didn’t implement the E-Revo system in any other RC car except for the Traxxas Summit gives us two possibilities:

Whether the system is great and they made it only for those two RC cars to make them special and different than the other Traxxas RC cars.

OR, this system didn’t prove its efficiency and they stopped applying it on other RC cars.

I find the first reason more reasonable since nobody has ever complained about the suspension, I mean the shocks can be broken and replaced like any other RC car, but, it’s not a big problem that makes you break the deal.

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Electronics Structure

When it comes to the electronic structure, these two RC cars are different. The chassis of the XRT comes with more organized electronics where there are two battery holds on the sides while the motor, the ESC, and the servo are in the middle.

For the Traxxas E-Revo, the motor, ESC, servo, and other electronics take more space while the two battery holders are hidden on the sides in the bottom of the chassis. This means that they’re below the electronics.

That’s a great structure too since it has used the free space below the chassis.

For the rear, each RC car of these has the same design as the front with a big rear spoiler.

The Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo spoilers look different. Traxxas E-Revo has a simple spoiler, no openings or double spoilers are there. For Traxxas XRT, you will see more details popping out there.

Overall, both spoilers are doing a great job of adding more downforce at high speeds and maintaining balance.

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Tires

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Tires

Tires also play a big role in the performance and the handling of any RC car, in this Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo comparison, the tires of the E-Revo are different than the tires of the XRT.

Traxxas XRT adapts these types of wheels for the first time for Traxxas RC cars.

The XRT comes with the 7.4″ Gravix™ race tires which are so wide and big, and here is the thing, they are made for racing.

These tires can be great on-road, but off-road, they are the reason for something that everybody hated in the XRT.

These tires are great, however, they make it so difficult for controlling the car, especially in the air! You can’t even make a backflip in the air! It(s so hard and there is a big probability that you will break your RC car by landing upside down instead of on your wheels.

On the other side, the E-Revo comes with the 3.8 Aggressive Talon EXT all-terrain tires. In terms of numbers, these tires may look nothing in comparison to those of the XRT.

But due to the ballooning, these tires make it so easy for you to control your RC car and do whatever you want, you can control it in the air as well as on land.

So for the tires, if you’re talking about off-road, the E-Revo tires are the winners!

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Performance

After seeing all the chassis and body features of the Traxxas XRT and Traxxas E-Revo, which one do you think is better at performance?

Well, let’s find out more…

Traxxas XRT comes with a Velineon® 1200XL Brushless Motor, VXL-8s™ Waterproof Electronic Speed Control, and a Powerful 365 oz-in steering servo. In addition to the double 4s Lipo batteries, this thing can reach up to 60mph using the Optional Speed Gear of course.

On the other hand, Traxxas E-Revo comes with a Velineon® 2200kV Brushless Motor, a VXL-6s Waterproof Electronic Speed Control in addition to Two 3s LiPo Batteries which can produce a speed of 70+mph.

Yes, the Traxxas E-Revo is quicker and faster than the XRT!

The reason might be the lighter weight of the Traxxas E-Revo as well as its smaller aerodynamic body than the body of the XRT.

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Handling

When it comes to handling, there are so many factors to know how these RC cars handle. But, here is the thing, those two RC monsters are some of the best handling RCs in the market!

With their low ground clearance chassis, wide suspension, and wheels, these two can do everything with no problems. But, this is a comparison, and we should have a winner.

The XRT has proven its high ability and did an incredible job handling it, it is really hard to flip over this RC car, especially with the WideMaxx suspension in place.

Still, some people think that the servo isn’t that good since it is the same as the old Traxxas RC cars, it does work well, but, not for so long!

The other bad side about the XRT handling is the fact that it is hard to predict especially in jumps! You can’t expect how high it will jump or how it will land which is complicated to drive.

Traxxas E-Revo also comes with another wide chassis and has imaginable handling, this thing is so easy to control despite having explosive power and speed. You can control it easily in the air and enjoy bashing around.

The E-Revo has even two servos instead of one which is not available on the XRT! This means more steering power in your pocket!

The problem though is the fact that this RC car isn’t as powerful in corners as the XRT.

You can check the full review of Traxxas XRT as well as E-Revo for more details about them!

So, as you see, both RC cars have advantages and disadvantages, so which one would you choose from this Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo comparison?

Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo Transmitter and Receiver

The transmitter and the receiver are also important parts of any RC car, without them, your RC car won’t be able to take your orders.

Fortunately, both RC cars come with the same transmitter which is the TQi™ 2.4GHz High Output Radio System.

Also, the Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo receiver is the same which is the 5-channel micro receiver.

These two have so many features like the Traxxas Link that allows you to link your RC car to your smartphone and see all your data like the motor temperature, the RPM as well as the top speed of your RC car.

There is also another feature in both cars, it’s the TSM, Traxxas Stability Management that allows you to maintain the same direction when driving at high speed by fixing the wheels automatically for you.

Although they have the same features, there is a feature that the XRT lacks, it’s the self-righting system. This feature allows you to make your RC car flip back on its wheels again after flipping over on its body.

This will save you a lot of time and effort going all the way where your RC car has been flipped over and flip it back manually,

Unfortunately, this feature isn’t in the XRT, but it is available in the E-Revo!

So, the Traxxas XRT VS E-Revo are almost the same except for the Self-righting system that the Traxxas XRT lacks.

You can get the E-Revo at almost half the price of the Traxxas XRT. Why? Because the XRT has the same price as the X-Maxx! Some people may see it as overpriced, but that’s the truth!
