Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 Design

The Body

The first thing you would notice when comparing the bodies of the E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 Is this. The Rustler’s body is a smaller version of the E-Revo’s body!

They have even the same headlights design and almost the same spoiler design!

Also, they have some common body features like the clipless body. This feature makes you able to remove the body with just one click.

It’s a lot easier than the traditional 4 clips that you have to struggle with in order to remove.

They have body exterior mounts to provide maximum protection in case of a crash.

In addition to that, both E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 bodies cover their whole chassis to protect them. This is a feature you can’t find in a lot of RC cars like the Bandit and the Stampede.

Now, as you see, the bodies of Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 are almost the same except for the size difference.

BUT, after this E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 body section, almost everything you’re going to see will be just differences! Because these 2 RC cars are in completely different leagues!

Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 Chassis

Here comes the big difference! The chassis of the E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 are completely different.

First of all, the Traxxas Rustler 4×4 VXL chassis has the same platform like the one in Traxxas Slash. This means that they have the same structure and almost the same parts.

So, if you want to upgrade your Rustler 4×4, you won’t find any problem finding the parts because they’re available.

When it comes to Traxxas E-Revo, its chassis is so different than the rest of Traxxas RC cars. But some of its features resemble the X-Maxx like having 2 batteries.

Also, the shocks of the E-Revo are different, they’re installed horizontally instead of vertically like the normal shocks in Rustler 4×4 VXL.

This special innovation that is exclusive just for Traxxas E-Revo increases its ability to handle every single terrain that is driving on.

When it comes to the E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 wideness, Both RC cars are wide. (Of course in proportion to their chassis).

The Wideness

This E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 wideness is so important and acts as a support for the RC car to prevent it from flipping while going at high speed or drifting.

Besides the wideness, the low center of gravity of each of these 2 RC cars is low. As a result, that helps also with the handling and speed around corners.

In addition to that, if you open the E-Revo and the Rustler chassis, you’ll find that the components of the E-Revo are much bigger, and more in terms of numbers. They have even different placements for their parts!

With that being said, we can say that the E-Revo is an RC car for someone who has some previous experience with RC cars. Why?

Simply because this RC car has a different structure, and a lot of parts are not clear and easy to reach in order to change.

And this is not the case in the Traxxas Rustler 4×4 VXL. Because Traxxas Rustler hasn’t that many parts, its chassis is clearer and you can recognize the internal parts easily.

Also, its structure is common with other Traxxas RC cars that have the same platform, like the Slash, the Hoss, and the Stampede.

So as a conclusion, if you’re a beginner, it’s better to start with a Traxxas Rustler 4×4 VXL to learn more about RC cars. Then, you can go with a Traxxas E-Revo that will show you another level of RC cars.

Does this mean that the E-Revo is more performant than the Rustler? Well, that’s what we can think about right now. Is it right? It is false? We will discover that in the performance section.

Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 Performance

Performance is one of the most important factors to buy a new RC car. And it is also one of the best ways to brag about in front of your friends!

For Traxxas Rustler 4×4 VXL, it comes with a Velineon® 3500kV Brushless Motor and a VXL-3s Waterproof Electronic Speed Control. By adding a 3s Lipo battery to those parts, your Rustler 4×4 VXL can reach 65+ mph.

That is something crazy! You can’t drive something like this without smiling because of fun!

What about Traxxas E-Revo 2.0?

Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 comes with a Velineon® 2200kV Brushless Motor and a VXL-6s Waterproof Electronic Speed Control. Add two of 3s Lipo batteries, and you’ll see a monster coming to you at 70+ mph!

That’s more than a Traxxas Maxx!

Of course, the wideness of these 2 RC cars, and their low center of gravity help them a lot with maintaining control while going at that high speed.

But there are other important things that not only support them. But it also, save you a lot of time and energy. They are the systems!

Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 Systems

These 2 RC cars have a lot of power. And maintaining this power is so hard without having systems in place.

One of the best systems that work with the E-Revo and the Rustler as well as a lot of other Traxxas RC cars is the TSM.

Traxxas Stability Management System

With the Rustler having a 65+ mph and the Rustler having a max speed of 70+ mph, it’s hard to control them. They can lose balance easily, and slip on their side.

But the TSM, your front wheels automatically turn against the direction where the car is slipping. This is a good way to keep the balance and prevent fatal crashes.

The Self-Righting System

The second system that both RC cars have si the self-righting system. Unlike the TSM, this system is not provided for a lot of Traxxas RC models.

It is more provided to the brushless versions like the cars we’re reviewing today.

This system is so cool. Why, because it saves tons of time and energy. Simply it’s a system that makes your RC car able to flip back on its wheels after being flipped on its back.

So instead of following your car all the way to where it lost control and flipped on its back to flip her again on the wheels. All you have to do now, it clicks a button! Yes, just a button!

However, one of the disadvantages of this system is that it doesn’t work always. But, don’t worry, it works most of the time!

Traxxas Link

For me, this is the coolest system you can have on your Traxxas RC car. It’s the Traxxas Link. And both cars: Traxxas E-Revo and Traxxas Rustler 4×4 VXL have it!

Basically, this system provides you with more info about your RC car through your phone. And this is done by getting a small aftermarket Traxxas Bluetooth device and link it to your controller.

Then, you can connect your controller to your phone by Installing the Traxxas app. Then, you can enjoy seeing all the information about your Rustler or E-Revo.

This info includes the temperature, the speed, and even the location of your RC Truck! Isn’t that amazing?

Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 Waterproof electronics

I don’t know if I should include this feature in this systems list. But, I think it’s a cool feature. Because without it, you can’t enjoy this power the way you want!

Both RC cars have fully waterproof electronics. This means that you can go all out. But at the same time, you should be careful as your RC car ages.

Because you never know if these electronics are still able to handle water, or they should be changed!

Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4x4 Upgrades

Upgrading your RC car is one of the funniest things you can do. Especially after finishing and seeing the fruits of these upgrades! Whether it is more speed, or more stability, or even a new body!

It’s still something funny and great.

And this is the case for those RC cars. However, Traxxas E-Revo VS Rustler 4×4 upgrades are different!

In fact, Traxxas Rustler 4×4 VXL has a lot of common parts with other Traxxas RC cars like the Slash, the bandit, and the Hoss. And these parts are more available!

On the other hand, Traxxas E-Revo has its own upgrading parts. And most of them can’t be compatible with other RC cars.

But, some of them are compatible with the Traxxas Summit, because the chassis of this monster truck is a little bit similar to the one of the E-Revo (Including the Onboard suspension system).

This doesn’t mean that they’re rare. NO, they’re so available as well. But not as much as the parts of the Rustler 4×4 VXL!
