The body
First of all, Traxxas Slash 4×4’s body is made of plastic as any other Traxxas RC car.
The great thing about this plastic is that it can handle a lot of crashes without being broken easily, and you can change it easily if you want to.
And unlike some other Traxxas RC cars that come with clipless bodies like the Hoss and Traxxas Maxx, This body contains 4 clips by which you can attach it and detach it from the chassis.
Those clips are so reliable and you can trust them to make the body well fixed in case of a crash to keep your slash’s internal parts safe!
Moreover, Traxxas Slash 4×4 design is a little classic and ancient. However, you can feel the aggressiveness of this RC car just by looking at it.

Traxxas Slash Chassis
Did you know that The Traxxas Slash 4×4 chassis is one of the best, reliable, and most important chassis in the Traxxas RC cars?
The reason is that it is the foundation of a lot of Traxxas RCs. From Traxxas Ford Raptor, Stampede, Hoss, and more… All these RC monsters are relying on the Slash.

Traxxas Slash 4X4 Performance
I know that you might be thinking that since this RC car is cheap, she has nothing up her sleeve. And let me tell you: YOU’RE TOTALLY WRONG!!
First of all, as you see from the name, Traxxas Slash 4×4 is a 4X4 RC car that comes with a super powerful and reliable 3500 kV Titan 12T 550 motor as well as a waterproof XL-5 electronic speed control.
With this combination, This monster can reach high speeds that exceed 30 mph, which is more than Traxxas Stampede!
To reach even higher speeds, you can upgrade your motor from brushed to brushless, and add a Lipo battery instead of a NiMH battery. And as a result, you can reach up to 60mph.
To put this in perspective, this is the same speed as Traxxas Maxx! Believe it or not!
The Traxxas Slash also comes equipped with a lot of great systems and features like the Stability Management (TSM) that keeps the RC car focused on one direction by telling the wheels how to counteract the fishtailing.
Not only that, but the strong TQi radio system also keeps everything under precise control.

The Stability Management System

The Radio System
Like the Traxxas Slash 2WD, the radio system is easy and simple to use, if it’s your first time, don’t worry, all you need is less than 30 minutes of practice and here you go!
The RC car Traxxas Slash 4X4 has a TQ 2.4GHz radio system that provides glitch-free response while the watertight receiver box allows for all-weather excitement. All you have on that controller is an accelerator, brake, and a wheel where you can control the steering wheel as well as an ON/OFF button.
Its design is so comfortable and lightweight for your hands even if you play all day.

The charger and the battery
Also, like the Traxxas Slash 2WD, The Traxxas Slash 4X4 comes with a 7-cell NiMH battery with iD technology and a 4 amp 12-volt DC peak-detecting fast charger for reliable charging.
Also, there is a LED indicator that flashes green when the charging is in progress and stops flashing when the charging is complete.
Traxxas Slash 4×4 Upgrades
Upgrading this car is one of the easiest and cheapest things you can do. The Slash platform is so easy to modify and play with, and this is why a lot of people ignore buying other none cheap Traxxas RC cars.
And all they do is buy a slash, modify it as they wish, and enjoy their custom-made RC car!

What I Don’t Like About It
Despite being so popular and having a lot of great features, Traxxas Slash still has some cons that no one loves. It is the stock parts!
The problem with most Traxxas RC cars is that they come in plastic built-in parts that can be broken easily. Especially if you love aggressive driving and jumping or if you’re a beginner and you don’t know yet how to fully control the vehicle!
But again, as I say always, you get what you pay for. This is what you’ll have when you buy one of the best (Still) and cheap Traxxas RC cars!
There are other Traxxas RC cars that are super powerful from the beginning as they come out from the box. All you need to do is to push the trigger and enjoy your day.
However, people still buy this RC car because this same problem of having plastic-built material is giving some of the unique and great features to this RC car. We will see them in the next section…
What I Like About Traxxas Slash 4X4
As we said earlier, the problem with the plastic material isn’t something good. But from another perspective, it’s so good!
Because it’s one of the best and cheap Traxxas RC cars, Traxxas Slash can be the first RC car for beginners including children to learn how to drive it. And even if it did break, it’s ok since all its other parts are cheap, easy to find, and to change as well.
The other reason why people love this RC car is that, as we said in the upgrading section, they can be upgraded to be insanely fast and strong.
Well, let’s face it, a lot of RC fans, if not most, love doing the mechanics, discovering how RC cars work, adding some parts, removing others and testing the results, and so on.
Because this is the most enjoyable thing about an RC car other than driving. It’s discovering, learning, and being creative!
