Traxxas Stampede 2WD is one of the most recognizable Traxxas RC cars. The height, wheels, and body are all that makes it special from the other Traxxas RC cars.

And despite its weird and different shape and structure, this RC monster truck remains one of the best Traxxas RC cars to start with as a beginner. Especially that is cheap to buy and to fix in case you broke it (‘Cause you will anyway!).

But, there are also some other great RC cars to start with like the Traxxas Slash 2WD. So is there a difference,? and which one should you choose?

Traxxas Stampede 2WD Design

Traxxas Stampede Body

As mentioned in the introduction, and even if you’re a little knowledgeable about Traxxas RC cars, you’ll see that the Stampede 2WD shape is different than the others despite being also RC trucks.

The first thing that you would notice, (that I did also) is how thin and long the body is!

Unlike Traxxas Slash that whose body covers most of the chassis including the wheels, the stampede’s body is covering just the chassis only.

Not only that, but the body isn’t covering the motor of the car that is installed in the rear instead of being in the middle like most Traxxas cars.

The second thing that you would definitely notice is the extreme height of this car. This height will have a great impact on Traxxas Stampede 2WD during off-road driving to surpass any obstacles, especially with its bold and big wheels.

The cool thing about the chassis of the Traxxas Stampede 2WD is the fact that it is based on the Slash chassis platform. However, the chassis structure is different from the other Traxxas RC cars.

And the first thing that I’m sure you will notice with me is how thin the chassis is. Just look at it! This is the thinnest chassis I’ve ever seen in any Traxxas RC car!

And since the chassis is thinner, that means that there isn’t much space for the internal parts to be organized like the other RC cars.

As a result of that,

if you notice, Traxxas has placed the motor in the rear of the vehicle!

I don’t know if this was a good idea, but, the chassis isn’t protecting the motor while it is the last piece in the vehicle and the closest part to the ground as well.

What if the motor gets hit by the ground if the acceleration of the Stampede 2WD was intense especially with the 2WD system. Is there something that can protect the motor from being damaged?

Well, fortunately, there is a part that does not only protect the motor from touching the ground. But also prevent the vehicle from flipping back.

I guess you know it! YES, It’s the wheelie bar!

However, this part doesn’t come with the vehicle, so you have to buy one. Here is the Compatible one for Traxxas Stampede 2WD.

So don’t worry about crushing your motor because the wheelie bar is protecting it. But, I still recommend that Traxxas should change the placement of the motor in the next updates of this monster truck.

Other than that, Traxxas Stampede has the same parts as the Traxxas Slash 2WD that is known for its durability, handling, and endurance.

What I don’t like about the Stampede 2WD

There is one thing that I don’t like about this RC car that I mentioned before which is the placement of the motor. This is because it can be endangered by dust, snow, and mud. As well as being crushed as a result of a big jump.
