Like any other Slash, Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate has the same body as its peers.
However, the only big difference between this and the other versions is that it has its own colors.
Those colors are not available in the other stock versions. It is also so attractive with its design than the other Slashes.
Other than that, everything else is the same. And without the different colors, you couldn’t notice which version it is!
As with any other Traxxas Slash, the body comes with 4 clips spread across the front and the rear.
In addition to that, fake headlights and windows that give the Slash its identity are there as well.
There is also the great thing that a lot of people love about the body of the Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate which is how wide it is. It covers everything even the wheels.
That gives extra protection to the internal parts unlike some other Traxxas RC cars like the Stampede.
This is one of the reasons why Traxxas Slash is well known for its durability even if it’s cheap.
Another thing about this Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate is the availability of the body. This means that you can replace it in case of being cracked easily.

Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate Chassis
As you saw in the previous section, almost everything concerning the body is the same as the other versions.
However, when it comes to the chassis, this RC car has a big advantage. And this advantage is what makes the Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate the best Slash ever!
There is even a greater fact! Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate is the only Traxxas RC car that comes in stock with this feature. Even Traxxas X-Maxx has just a half of it.
Do you what it is? It’s the aluminum package!
Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate chassis comes with a lot of aluminum parts. These parts include the aluminum GTR shocks, central driveshaft, and caster blocks that link the wheels with the rest of the RC car.
You may say that the X-Maxx comes also with the same aluminum parts. Well, not all the parts are the same.
For example, Traxxas X-Maxx has comes with Aluminum wheel hubs. But, it doesn’t come with aluminum caster blocks!
After all, they both have their own features.
Also, the structure of the chassis is almost the same as the one on the Slash 4×4 and the Slash 4×4 VXL.
What’s great about the Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate and all the Slash family is the front and rear bumpers.
These bumpers have a great role in protecting and absorbing a big amount of shocks. This is also one of the reasons why the Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate is more reliable!
Other than that, everything else is almost the same.
In fact, the only way to know that this is a Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate is by looking at the aluminum parts as well as the servo since it’s a metal servo.
This metal servo comes only with the stock Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate. But not with any other Slash.
Having such parts should mean that this Slash 4×4 Ultimate has to be super powerful. Believe me, it’s crazy!

Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate Performance
When it comes to performance, this Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate is the most powerful of all the Slash sisters.
But, it has a lot of common things between her and the 4×4 VXL.
First of all, Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate comes with Velineon® 3500 Brushless Motor that is so strong. In fact, it is the principal responsibility of the performance of this RC car.
It does come also with a Velineon® VXL-3s ESC that has three driving modes which are available in almost any Traxxas RC car. They’re the Training, Sport, and Racing mode.
It is also capable of accepting 2-3s Lipo batteries.

All you have to do is to get a device called Traxxas Link. This device is fixed to your controller and should be connected to your phone using the Traxxas app and Bluetooth as well.
By this method, you would be able to see everything about your RC car from the dashboard of your phone. These informations include the temperature, the speed, as well as the voltage!

It is true that Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate stock upgrades make the possibility of adding more parts smaller. However, you can still have a lot of parts to repair, replace and upgrade!
Other than the Aluminum shocks, suspensions arms, Caster blocks, and central driveshaft, there are a lot of other parts that you can add.
For example, the wheels driveshafts are built with high-quality plastic. But still, they will break sooner or later!
You can upgrade the wheels and the wheel hubs. The shock towers are also as normal as the ones on the Slash 2WD. Having the aluminum versions will empower your Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate!
Other than changing the building quality, you can change for colors too. The shocks, the suspensions arms as well as a lot of other parts come in different colors. It would be great to match the design of your RC car. Isn’t it?

Things I Don’t Like About Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate
This RC car is a beast when it comes to performance and building quality. However, there is one thing that bothers me about it. It’s the body!
Personally, I feel like the performance of the Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate and its body are contradicting each other.
Even so, the body is still capable of providing decent protection to the rest of the car, but, with some upgrades from Traxxas, it can be a lot better!
Especially that the price point of the Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate isn’t cheap. Actually, it is almost at the same price point as Traxxas Hoss.
But still, Traxxas has a lot of great features!
What I Like About The Traxxas Slash 4×4 Ultimate
Actually, all these features that we mentioned in this detailed review are amazing! Especially the concept of this Slash which is being upgraded as a stock RC car.
