If you read our previous article about Traxxas Slash 4WD (that we reviewed before) and the Traxxas Slash 2WD that we are reviewing today, you’ll see no difference at all on the look of these two RC cars because they are the same.
Traxxas Slash 2WD body comes as a normal one-piece RC cars body. Nobody mounts like Traxxas Hoss or fancy headlights like Traxxas Summit! All you have is just a body.
However, this body can do some missions that the Stampede can’t! It covers the whole chassis of the car!
This is something that a lot of its competitors don’t have like the Stampede. With its width, the Traxxas Slash 2WD body can provide almost complete protection for the internal parts from dust and mud.
However, It can’t protect itself! In fact, unlike other Traxxas RC cars like Traxxas Maxx and Hoss, Traxxas Slash 2WD doesn’t have any internal or external body mounts. Hence, the body is more likely to get hurt!
Despite being simple, you still can add some upgrades like the headlights.
When it comes to the other models of Traxxas Slash, they have all the same bodies. Even the strongest Slash model has a normal body.
This actually puts Slash at a disadvantage in comparison to its other competitors like the Traxxas Grave Digger which is perfect for kids!
But, who cares, since Traxxas Slash is made for bashing and bad driving!

Traxxas Slash 2WD Systems

For an RC car with such a price, I don’t think there is something that I would complain about. One of the main reasons is the fact that Traxxas is providing other Traxxas Slash models with different features.
This will allow you to choose what model you want based on the features you want!
So, I think Traxxas has done a great job to prevent the criticism around the Traxxas Slash 2WD by providing the VXL and the Ultimate versions with much more power and systems.
Whoever, the part that I don’t like about that is the fact that they have the same body from the basic model to the top model.
Well, I don’t think you will buy an expensive Slash Ultimate just to find that your friend has a Slash 2WD with less than half the price that has the same body!

What I Like About Traxxas Slash 2WD
Traxxas Slash 2WD is a simple RC car that allows a lot of RC cars beginners to learn more about them. They learn not just from a driving perspective, but also from a mechanical perspective thanks to its simple chassis structure.
And even if you break it, it’s ok since its parts are everywhere. And the great thing it’s they are cheap!
