Shock Caps
Do you know what a shock cap is?
The shock cap is the small part that links the top of the shock with the rest of the car. These shock caps are so important because they absorb all the pressure between the shocks and the car to maintain their linking.
This is why they have to be strong. However, when you buy the Slash 4×4, they come with built-in plastic which isn’t something that you would rely on that much.
And this is the reason you should replace them with Aluminum shock caps. We all know that aluminum is a lot better than plastic and can handle much better.

Shock Shafts
We are always on the shocks because they’re so much important when it comes to vehicle handling. When you buy a new Traxxas Slash 4×4, you’ll get the steel stock shock shafts, and these things are not much reliable.
Besides, a lot of people are considering those weaknesses in the Traxxas Slash 4×4, and they see that they have to be changed as soon as possible by the hardened shock shafts.

Bearing Adapter/Carrier
The bearing adapter is a very small part of the slipper clutch that most people don’t pay attention to.
This bearing adapter is so important because it is the one that is responsible for handling the friction between the slipper clutch and the motor mount.
The dangerous thing about that is that if you buy a new Traxxas Slash, you’ll have this bearing adapter built-in plastic. And as you know, the plastic can’t handle the heat and won’t be there for you!
So, all you have to do is to upgrade to the aluminum bearing carriers that will handle all the heat and the pressure coming from the motor.

Motor Mount
The motor mount is the part that protects the motor of the RC car. And the better the mount is the higher chances that your motor will survive.
This motor mount doesn’t provide protection to the motor only, but also to the bearing carriers that we talked about before that can be fixed in the middle of the mount.
This means that if you have an aluminum motor mount added to an aluminum bearing carrier. Then, you have the perfect duo!
The Chassis Brace
If you have the Traxxas Slash 4×4 or any other powerful RC car, I’m sure that you would be interested to know its full power and its maximum speed. Especially that it is a 4×4 version which means that it has a lot more power.
But let’s not deny the fact that more speed means more risk to the car, especially if you have something that is not that strongly built and has just plastic material/

The problem with the Traxxas Slash 4×4 axles is that they’re plastic made, so, under high speeds, they won’t handle that much and you’ll suffer from the constant breaking of those axles. This is why you should replace them with harder ones built with steel or even aluminum.

The Chassis Cover
Most of Traxxas RC cars’ internal parts don’t have protection against external dust, mud, and water and can be vulnerable to being lost. This is why you should use this chassis cover to prevent losing the internal parts of your Slash 4×4, especially that not all of these parts aren’t waterproof.

But, if you’d like to prevent unnecessary problems, going for a cheap part to prevent expensive problems is the wisest choice. This can be a great solution if you’re using the cover we mentioned in the previous section!

The Servo
The servo is that little component that allows you to communicate with your RC car through the controller that you have in your hands. It converts simply the commands that you’re putting through the controller into physical actions on the vehicle.
The stock servos that come with the Slash 4×4 are good, but the only problem they have is the durability! This is why you have to get a high-quality servo.

The RPM A-Arms
The A-arms are so essential for any RC car because they keep the car balanced, add extra stability, and prevent it from flipping.
And of course, these essential parts that keep the Slash 4×4 off the ground and give it full support need to be hard enough to handle all the pressure coming from the jumps, the rocks as well as the off-road in general.
