Design

Traxxas Nitro Slash Body

First of all, by looking at the Traxxas Nitro Slash body, you won’t notice any difference from the electric Slash. In general, they’re the same, but, in detail, there are a lot of differences.

Some of the big differences you will notice in this nitro body are the holes in the front as well as the rear. These holes are made on purpose in order for the motor to breathe since, as you know, a nitro or a fuel motor needs air in order to function.

The material of the body is so thin, still, it has a big ability to absorb crashes which makes it perfect for bashingAdditonally, it doesn’t come with any internal cage or external skids. Just a piece of plastic!

The Front

The front of the Traxxas Nitro Slash is a normal Slash body that comes with sticker headlights with a big bumper in front of it connected to the chassis.

The body is offered with 4 clips, two in the front and two others in the back.

But here is the interesting thing, in the big front window, there is a square hole where the airflow passes to the motor.

Other than that, the body has Traxxas stickers all over it.

The Rear

Concerning the rear of the Traxxas Nitro Slash, it is offered with 4 big holes, these ones don’t only allow the motor to breathe as you think!

They also empty the cabinet from the air that has entered from the front. So, this has also something to do with aerodynamics.

Other than that, like the front and the middle, the rear is also filled with a lot of stickers that add a beautiful touch to this monster.

Traxxas Nitro Slash Chassis

Traxxas Nitro Slash Review. Everything You Need To Know About!

Unlike the body, this RC car doesn’t resemble the electric Slash chassis at all. Their chassis are completely different!

Actually, the Traxxas Slash Nitro chassis is based on the Rustler Nitro. To be more precise, the Slash chassis is an extended version of the Rustler chassis.

First of all, the chassis of this nitro RC car is based on a metal layer to increase the handling, especially in case of high jumps or a crash. Other than that, the other parts are made of plastic.

The chassis is so tall and thin, however, it carries all the components perfectly with no problems.

The Front

When it comes to the front of the chassis, the first thing you will see is the bumper. It is big, wide, and covers most of the front part of the body.

The great thing is there is a long distance between the bumper and the shocks. There is also a brace in between to increase the protection.

The shocks and the body mount are made of plastic as well.

We can say in the end that the front part of this RC car is standard on the Electric as well as the Nitro Slash including the tires also.

The Middle And the Rear

The middle and the rear of the chassis are where all the internal components of the Traxxas Nitro Slash gather.

Just like any other Nitro RC car, there are a lot of interesting things there. Starting with the 150CC fuel tank, the motor, the EZ start engine as well as the exhaust installed on the side unlike Revo 3.3.

There is also the air filter which is something important in any fuel engine.

We will get into more details about the engine and the other internal components in the performance section.

Regarding the rear, it has the same parts that come in the front. However, the structure is slightly different.

In fact, the shocks are installed vertically instead of diagonally in the front which is, I guess, a reason to handle the weight of the motor installed right before the shocks.

In addition to that, there is a big bumper in the rear, it’s shaped like a cage that looks strong and powerful.

So, if all these parts work together, would they give us a beast? Well, let’s find out!

Traxxas Nitro Slash Performance

As mentioned in the previous section, the Traxxas Nitro Slash comes with a lot of powerful internal parts that give it a big power.

In fact, this 2WD Nitro RC car can reach +50mph using a 3.3 fuel engine as well as single speed transmission unlike Revo 3.3 which comes with 2-speed automatic transmission.

These parts are not the only sources of this power though, there are other parts that you should know about like the servo, the tires, the gears, the air filter as well as others.

Here are all the Traxxas Nitro Slash 2WD parts:

As you see, there are a lot of parts that contribute to the performance of this RC car whether it is a high speed or super handling that the Slash is well known for.

Some people don’t like some parts because they have bad experiences with them like the servos. Well, this is not a problem since you can always change the servos or any other part with any upgrade you choose.

Also, some people don’t like 2WD systems. You don’t need to worry either, that’s because Traxxas Nitro Slash doesn’t come with a 2WD version only, but also with two other versions.

The first version is the Hawaiian type. Basically, there is no difference, same systems, same parts, and same performance, the only difference is the special paint of the body.

Of course, they have the same price. Some Slash fans don’t even consider this as a type, it’s just a color, they say!

The second version is the Slayer Pro 4×4. If you’re looking for a 4WD version, this is it for you!

This version comes with the same top speed which is 50mph as the normal 2WD Nitro Slash, however, it is offered with an advanced chassis and parts.

You can already feel that the handling on this RC car is better than the 2WD version.

Still, they have all something in common though: The systems that come from the transmitter and the receiver.

Still, not all people love this system, but this is not a problem. You can control the impact of this system on your driving. You can launch it for 100%, 40% (Or whatever) or you can disable it.

The other great feature that you will definitely love because it will help you manage the health and the performance of your RC car is the Traxxas Link.

Traxxas Link allows you to see a lot of info about your Traxxas Nitro Slash on your smartphone. How?

You can buy the Traxxas Link device, it doesn’t come in the box, put it in the transmitter. Then, install the Traxxas App and connect it to the Traxxas Link using Bluetooth.
