As you see, in the first impression, you’ll notice that both RC cars are so similar, the only difference is that the F150 is higher than the Bronco, and this is due to the tires as well as the suspension.

Still, there are a few details I should mention that make the difference…

The Front

The Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 VS TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979 front is the most similar part of all the parts of the two RC cars.

They both have a chrome bumper in the front, and big square headlights with turning lights under them, they are all shaped the same.

The Middle and the Rear End

When it comes to the Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 VS TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979 middle, there is a difference.

The only difference is the roof headlights that come with the F150 while the Bronco doesn’t come with any. Still, you can always add them as aftermarket upgrades.

Other than that, both RCs have two folding mirrors designed the same way as well as windshield wipers.

What about the rear?

The rear end is what helps you distinguish the TRX-4 Ford F150 from the 1979 Bronco. The Bronco comes as an SUV while the F150 comes as a pickup truck with a full chrome roll bar.

Also, they have the same taillights except for the FORD logo written on the back of the F150. Plus, they have the same chrome bumper in the rear.

Of course, both bodies have the latest body improvements from Traxxas like the clipless technique and both bodies have real headlights.

Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 VS TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979 Chassis

When it comes to the Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 VS TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979 chassis, the first thing you’ll notice is how similar these two chassis are. Well, this is in general.

But if you get into details, you’ll have some improvements that the TRX-4 Ford F150 got.

One of the most important differences between those two RC cars is the length. The chassis of the Ford F150 has been extended to increase the stability and handling off-road. But both cars have steel frames which are so rigid and reliable.

The other difference is the ground clearance which I’m sure you already noticed. This is due first to the tires.

The 1979 Bronco comes with the CANYON TRAIL 1.9″ with a 4.6″ DIAMETER. On the other hand, the TRX-4 F150 Ford comes with CANYON TRAIL 2.2″ with a 5.3″ DIAMETER. See the difference?

Second, this is due to the suspension as well that has been upgraded to a new height.

The 1979 Bronco comes with GTS Aluminum shocks while the Traxxas F150 TRX-4 is offered with extended GTS shocks by 110 mm. This is a difference of about 20mm between the two shock versions!

In total, the Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 VS TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979 length difference is more than 1 inch.

Other than those major differences, the TRX-4 Frd F150 has adopted the same parts that were used in the High trail edition as well as in the 1979 Ford Bronco TRX-4.

This includes all the off-road and the 4WD system parts like the portal axles, the remote-operated T-lock differentials, the high/low 2-speed transmission, as well as others…

But, do these improvements increase the performance of the Traxxas Ford F150 over the TRX-4 Bronco 1979? Let’s see…

Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 VS TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979 Performance

Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 VS TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979 Performance

When it comes to the speed and the motor, both RC cars come with the famously powerful Titan® 21T reverse rotation motor with an internal cooling fan, and a Trail-tuned XL-5 HV Waterproof Electronic Speed Control made for 3s Lipo batteries.

So, by saying this, we can conclude that both RC cars have the same power and the same speed.

But the main difference is in the handling and the reliability.

The fact that the TRX-4 Ford F150 got higher wheels is to surpass higher obstacles with no problems which is something that the 1979 Traxxas Bronco doesn’t have.

Also, the extended chassis and the bigger tires and wheels will add more weight which will increase the grip, and so, better crawling!

Traxxas didn’t change the motor or the ESC since they know that the key to off-roading isn’t high speed, it’s the grip, the handling, and the right amount of power! Just the right amount of power to put the right amount of grip to crawl.

So, is the Traxxas Ford F150 TRX-4 more powerful than the TRX4 Ford Bronco 1979? Yes, it can crawl more and surpass more obstacles than the Bronco.
