The Traxxas X-Maxx upgrades are not something that you would think about it so much. You have to do it! Not because the stock X-Maxx is boring (which is something that is totally false). But, because the driving will become 10X times funnier than before.
I have already reviewed the Traxxas X-Maxx before (See It Here) and saw how powerful this RC car is. It is the best car for me that Traxxas has made!
But adding some upgrades will give it more fun and joy, and the most important thing is that you’ll be different. Because I’m sure that people who are buying this car at that price are surely looking for a special thing and for something different than the others.
These upgrades don’t have to be at the power’s level like upgrading the battery or the servos if you’re not techy. But, they can be on the look of the car like matching the colors or adding some spoilers…
In this article, you’ll see the top 5 Traxxas X-Maxx upgrades to have in 2021…
Traxxas X-Maxx Tires
We’re starting with tires because they’re some of the most parts that get huge pressure on the vehicle when driving as well as when making crazy high jumps with the X-Maxx.
And I know that most Traxxas RC cars users love driving hard their RC cars, which means even more pressure on the internal parts including the wheels.
And unfortunately, the stock tires aren’t that strong and you can crash them in less than one hour of playing with your X-Maxx.
The other dangerous problem that these tires can do is that, when driving, the tires start stretching out. And with such a big, expensive, and fast RC car, you may cause big damage to your Traxxas X-Maxx.
Here are some great choices from me to you on Amazon:
Speaking of the tires, the wheel nuts are also important to fix your X-Maxx tires to the vehicle. It’s those little nuts that fix the wheels. The difference between these and the stock ones is that they’re more powerful and handle more pressure.
They give also a better look to the car since they come in multiple colors that you can choose and match to the colors of your RC car’s body.
The X-Maxx’s body
If you like changing things constantly like me, and you’re quickly bored. I recommend buying some new clothes for your Traxxas X-Maxx. And I mean by that is the body.
There are different colors for the body which makes it easy and funny to switch it to give your X-Maxx a great new look.
Here are some colors that I found on Amazon you may like:
As you know, this isn’t a light RC car like the Slash or the Bandit, it’s so heavy and fast. With these two combined, the most essential parts that are making the vehicle of the ground next to the wheels are the shocks.
With the speed, the high weight, and maybe the aggressive driving aside from the huge jumps, the shocks need to be really powerful at handling the giant pressure. And let me tell you that if you have the stock shocks, you will definitely break them under the conditions I mentioned before!
So, if you know what I talking about, you should upgrade to the aluminum aftermarket shocks. The great thing is that they also come in some colors. Here are some of my choice for you on Amazon:
Traxxas X-Maxx Stub Axle
Sometimes when you upgrade something in your Traxxas or any other RC car, you should know that by improving that part, you may be weakening other relative parts. So, you should be aware of that.
A great example of that is the Stub Axle and the shocks. The stub axle is what links the wheels to the rest of the body of your RC car. This means that these axles are also being part of handling the huge pressure.
If you’re upgrading the shocks and not the stub axles, you’re creating a difference in power and balance between those two parts.
So it’s better to have the aluminum ones to handle all that. Here are some that I found on Amazon for you:
There are so many other Traxxas X-Maxx upgrades that you can have. But, for me, I think these are the most essential, easy, and simple ones for a better look and also for better protection for your X-Maxx.
