Traxxas TRX4 Mercedes Benz Design
The Body
I think, from all our reviews, this is the first review where the body matters more than the performance!
The number of details included in the body is insane! If you see the Traxxas TRX4 G500 in pictures, you will think that it’s real.
In addition to that, there are a lot of small accessories that make the design of the car looks better. And they draw a lot of attention as well.
Some of them are the front headlights on the top of the front glass. They’re fixed in another piece that is acting as a body mount.
As for me, I like the idea of customizing the body mounts with things like headlights to avoid having a boring design.
The front principal headlights are looking great and they’re the same as the real Mercedes. And by the way, they’re real!
There is even a fake sunroof on top. The door handles, the logos, the rear bumper, and the chrome running boards are adding another amazing look to this RC car.
What about the rear red lights? To be honest, I think these are the best headlights I’ve ever seen. There is a big precision in building these that they look so bright and so real!
Also, other accessories are not meant to be there just for decoration! There is a unified internal body mount that supports the body completely and provides protection as well.
Well, in the end, there are so many details that you should discover. They’re unlimited!

Traxxas G500 Chassis
If you already have a Traxxas Defender or Bronco, you’ll notice that the chassis of the Traxxas G500 is so familiar. And that is because they have the same platform.
There are some slight differences between the Chassis of each one of them.
The Traxxas TRX4 G500 chassis looks more like the Traxxas Ford Bronco. They’re not the same 100%. But, they have a lot of similarities and some slight differences!
Some of their differences are the front and rear bumpers as well as the side bumpers. Other than that, they have the same components and structure.
Traxxas G500 comes also with additional parts than the TRX4 Sport that we just reviewed. And this is because it’s not a basic RC Crawler. It has different driving modes as well as more power and handling.
These features make it able to overcome anything on its way!
Another feature that TRX4 RC cars are well-known for is their height. And Traxxas TRX4 G500 is high. The chassis has a high center of gravity.
Being high helps with overcoming rocks and avoiding a lot of rust and dust to sneak into the internal parts despite being waterproof!
And by the way, don’t think that the building quality of this RC car is like the other Traxxas Stock RC cars that come with plastic. The chassis of the Traxxas G500 is built from steel, and a lot of its parts are chrome!
What about the performance? Well, this RC car has a lot of power that you need to try!

Traxxas G500 Performance
When it comes to performance, Traxxas G500 is opposite to the TRX4 which had just a basic chassis. This RC Crawler is super improved with high power and tech!
Traxxas TRX4 Mercedes Benz comes with a Powerful Titan™ 21T reverse rotation motor with an internal cooling fan. It is the same as all the TRX4 vehicles.
It comes also with Trail-tuned XL-5 HV Waterproof Electronic Speed Control which is the same as the others as well.
By adding a 3s Lipo battery to these parts, you’ll have an unstoppable monster climbing everything on the way.
Of course, these 3 parts are not the only ones that will make this RC car a monster. There are a lot of others like the aluminum shocks, the strong and super high tires as well as the steering servos.
What’s great also about the Traxxas G500 is the controller.
As you know, the more you have control over your RC car, the more fun driving becomes.
That’s because you have to decide every single detail by yourself to give your vehicle the best conditions possible to overcome an obstacle. Isn’t that great?
The controller has a lot of different buttons all over it by which you can control the driving modes.
In addition to the low and high-range transmission that allows you to increase or limit the speed depending on the terrain, you’re driving on.
You have also three options where you can unlock the diffs, lock just the front ones, or lock both of them.
Also, this RC car is fully waterproof, which means that you can go on any ground you’d like to without even worrying about it.
This makes the Traxxas G500 an all-ground vehicle!

What about the systems?
For the Traxxas G500, there are no similar systems to the 4WD RC Trucks like the Hoss and Maxx. Those are well known for their TSM and self-righting systems.
But these systems are mostly needed when there is a lot of speed to maintain the car under the driver’s control.
TRX4 RC Crawlers, don’t need such systems. What they need instead are systems that will help them crawl any type of terrain. And these were the systems that we mentioned before concerning the diffs and the ranges.
Besides those, there is one common system between the RC trucks and the RC crawlers. This system is called “The Cruise Control”.
All you need to do is to buy a small Traxxas device and connect it to your controller. After that, install the Traxxas app and connect it to the device using Bluetooth. And you’re ready to go!
This system gives you some detailed info about your RC car on your phone. Things like the temperature of your vehicle, speed and location, and even more.
In conclusion, the Traxxas G500 seems perfect when it comes to performance!
However, this Traxxas TRX4 Mercedes Benz comes with a lot of advanced parts like the chrome front bumper as well as others. Is there any room for updates?

Traxxas G500 Updates

What I don’t like About This Traxxas G500:
There are a few things that annoy me about this RC car or that I miss and I wish they could be.
One of the things that I missed in the Traxxas G500, and that I found in the TRX4 Sport are the D-Rings. These parts are fixed in the front bumper.
Well, for an RC car, they’re most likely fake. But they give the car a great look especially if they have a color that is standing out.
Another thing that has annoyed me a little bit is the fact that the car is not that wide! This means that it can be flipped on the side of the ground that was a little slanted.
I’m not an engineer, but this is just my opinion!
Other than that, the Traxxas TRX4 G500 is filled with a lot of great features and details. Let’s discover my favorite ones.

Things I Like About The Traxxas G500
The Chrome Exhaust pipes:
I’m so amazed that Traxxas didn’t forget to put this little detail in their duplicate Traxxas G500. And the great thing about it is that the Traxxas TRX4 Mercedes Benz is so popular and well known for this style of exhaust!
So Traxxas gave it even more value by building it with Chrome which is something wonderful!
The Real Headlights and Red Lights:
Real headlights and red lights are not something that you find in any Traxxas RC car. Most RC cars just have some fake stickers on the front and the back.
Well, Traxxas TRX4 G500 has beaten them all, and come ready with real headlights and red lights. All you have to buy the LED light kit. And you’re ready to go!
The high building quality of the internal parts:
Like most Traxxas RC cars, the G500 doesn’t come with cheap plastic internal parts that you have to change after breaking apart.
You can play with your stock G RC car with no worries about breaking something. And if you want to change them, you may change them because you wanted something more powerful and not because they broke!

After reviewing and checking all the details about the Traxxas G500, I can’t say anything other than this RC car is spectacular!
So, it’s almost perfect, and you can make it perfectly by changing everything that you like and things that you don’t!
